Children’s creativity transformed into visualization

Thirty one fourth graders from National College „Emil Racovita“ from Cluj Napoca were given a simple yet compelling task: to design their dream house. Our artists transformed their unconventional ideas into visualizations. Enjoy the surprising freshness of their visions!

The Mushroom Tree House

Built in the depths of the forest, it`s a fun place for a break from the city. Getting out is easy but good luck climbing the stairs.

Halloween House

A house with eyes conveying a happy and inviting feeling, helping you relive the Halloween magic over and over again!… It also has a castle shaped roof.

The Upside Down House

The house where the attic serves as groundfloor and the groundfloor is the attic. The place you can sneak into “your” apartment by using the ladder of course without disturbing the neighbour from below.

Coloured Paper House

Cozyness in a wondefrul moonlit setup.

Rabbit House

Everybody needs a friend who’s all ears. Why couldn’t he be your home?

House of Harmony

Situated in the middle of the woods, the house has many rooms designed for every animal in the forest, designed to coexist in a peaceful and harmonious environment

Hidden House built in the Forest

It has everything you need, TV, Wi-Fi and it’s also a secret rocket ship!

ExtaTerrestrial

Aliens are here and they are prepared to take over and upgrade your house – your pet as well. Get ready for a wild ride.

Inside Out

Inviting villa, with a quirky and complete reaveal of the inner-workings.

Enigmatic Happy House

Mist-enveloped, cozy cabin that will warm your heart, with heart shaped smoke coming out of the chimney

Hotel Yara

Memories from a wonderful trip to Maramures.

The “Crippy” House

A place where when you enter all your fears remains at the door. Crippy indeed, a fearless world, isn’t it?

Giant Tent Roofed House

Oh mac donald had a farm – built for giants that like to camp on it! E-I-E-I-O!

Crooked House

In the middle of nowhere: is the desert too hot? There’s no problem, you can cool down in the crooked house and have fun enjoying the company of its mysterious host.

69 Building

Building with the favorite number, where people work.

The Grumpy Treehouse

It was baffled! ”why can’t they leaf me alone?!” he thought to himself as the whole forest surprised him for his birthday.

The Hill Bottom House

Situated in the middle of nature where the walls are leaking slime and the side alley hosts the super car.

The Hand Cabin

This unconventional house has a mind of its own. It’s situated in a fantasy wonderland, keeping a secret which is key to the balance of the forest. You might get invited if you’re the chosen one.

The Future of Housing

Between large windows and well lit rooms this house has it all. The titan plating on the exterior walls is a feature that is improving security, while blending the building into the surroundings. The true innovation is the triangular garage door. We hope it will be a game changer in the industry!

The House of a Millionaire

It has a pool and a space where his/her friends are welcome as guests as long as they bring their games.

Hot-Dog House on Wheels

It`s designed to serve as a living space, hotdog selling point and it accommodates the family dog as well. In case there is a need for fast travel, you can activate the propulsion system so you can sell hotdogs in space.

Pijamas Party House

This house, built out of sheets and pillows hosts a generous and comfortable space, ready for pajama parties. If you are ready, take your friends and invite them to the house of endless parties in pajamas.

Forest House

It offers lodging for 2-3 families at the same time, as long as they mind the local wildlife and the spirits of the forest.

The House with a Pool

It´s cool, but pair that with a great view over the clouds and you will have a great time this summer.

Overgrown House

A house overgrown with vegetation on which flowers have bloomed. The people who live here are also made of plants.

House on Wheels

The idea of this house started from the passion for cars. The house hosts numerous and varied spaces, furnished for different activities – trampoline room, magic room and DJ room. Being on wheels, the house can travel discovering new places and new landscapes.

The House where the Time flows backwards

Have you ever wanted to go to sleep and wake up younger? Well, in this house you might have the chance to almost do that, still you can return in time to your dreams. Situated on a planetoid orbiting a black hole somewhere in the Milkyway , the house benefits from the nice and tonic effects of time and space distortions.

The Farm House

Far away from the city, this farm house has plenty of space for everyone, bring your pets too. It even has a generator!

The Paper Fortune Teller House

Placed on a small hill and surrounded by sunflower fields the house has a paper game roof to entertain yourself during your staying over there.

The Pool Roof Building

Welcome to the house with cats- for relaxing in nature and by the rooftop swimming pool.

The A-shaped House

Tent-like house in the woods for the weekends with strong mirroring windows.

Kids’ creativity unleashed in hands-on design project

Thirty one fourth graders from National College „Emil Racovita“ from Cluj Napoca were given a simple yet compelling task: to design their dream house. This exercise of creativity was part of the “We are building through education” initiative from the “De-a Arhitectura” Association, who invited the beyond team to help bring the children’s vision to life.

The “De-a Arhitectura” Association was founded in January 2011 within the cultural program of Architects Chamber Bucharest. Since 2013, the organization has developed a series of initiatives on national level, focused on children’s education, being the only educational program of architecture and environment built in Romania, with a certified school curriculum.

The goal is to introduce students to architecture and encourage teachers to explore the built environment as a resource for their curriculum. By doing so, we can cultivate the notion of a “quality-built environment” as a civic responsibility, aiming to increase the involvement of future citizens and improve dialog in the planning and design process that shape our communities.

Arh. Ciprian Simon, de-a arhitectura volunteer and Zsolt Szeibert, our Managing Partner, took the kids in a journey of exploration of essential communication on architecture and guided them in a way that promotes creative thinking, curiosity, community and responsibility.

True to our credo of supporting people to shape the future, we took on the task of bringing that creative vision to reality. The entire beyond crew jumped in and got to work. We listened carefully to our “clients” and delivered on their request – 31 stunningly creative sketches translated into 3D reality by our team of professionals.

On June 1st, on the international Children’s Day, we presented the final works, eager for the their feedback. The verdict was in – everyone was thrilled with the result! We are proud to have been part of this amazing experience and look forward to seeing these young bright minds tackle the world challenges and bring us into a brighter tomorrow – and of course, we will always be there to help them shape that future.

Zsolt Szeibert to enter top 5 at the international D2 Challenge No1. “Hugh Ferris”.

With the matte painting competition “Hugh Ferris + Droquis- D2 Challenge No1”, D2 Community started end of 2020 a series of challenges dedicated to 3d artists around the world.
With his work “The Ark”, our founding partner Zsolt Szeibert entered the top 5 of this international competition.

“I am very proud to have made it into the top 5 of the international D2 Community „Hugh Ferriss“  #D2challenge!
First of all congrats to Fabio Palvelli, Jason Bergeron and Mike Golden for the idea to organize a challenge with so much power and potential of interpretation and the possibility of going with it into so many directions!
I love to be part of this industry, which is built on our mutual love and passion towards archviz!

My entry „The Ark“

I share with you my digital painting and the concept board behind it.
Hugh Ferriss is one of the most influential architects of the early 20th century, who‘s striking predicting depictions of american skyscrapers influenced even different artistic domains (f ex Fritz Lang‘s „Metropolis“ or Rem Koolhaas’ famous book „Delirious New York“)

He is characterized by dealing with big themes like The Metropolis of Tomorrow, the belief of humanity‘s progress through technology.
By creating huge night atmosphere charcoal drawings, he developed a monumental, mystic and enigmatic imagery language.
I took his approach of predicting utopic future scenarios involving human society, by imagining a future in which humanity already completely consumed Earth‘s resources, and faces – similar to the legend of Noah – a moment of destruction as consequence of neglection of fundamental existential issues.
Still, this cannot be the end of the story, there has to be hope – so i imagine the last remains of civilizatory action as the ruins of a skyscraper reused by the few surviving humans as shelter and hope for a new beginning:
The Ark.”

We continue our tradition to initiate young generations of architecture students in the world of archviz.

At the invitation of Conf. Dr. Arch. Serban Tiganas, dean of the Faculty for Architecture and Urbanism Cluj, our artists gave backstage insight into the creation process of visuals and had an interesting Q&A session with the students.

Adapting to the general conditions, we enjoyed setting up an inhouse studio to host our online lecture together with Serban Tiganas who was kind to join us on our „broadcast couch“.

The show was spiced up by our office background, where the audience could see our team at work, while we held our lecture.

Even the weather helped us to enjoy the aftershow croissants and coffee served in our very own orchard.

Our journey to raise awareness and pass on our knowledge has just reached another level.

As our office name suggests, we are always drawn to go beyond the ordinary and thrive while doing pioneer work. Conf. Dr. Arch. Șerban Țigănaș’s invitation to organise a long-term workshop within his communication course at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism in Cluj aligned perfectly with this journey.

This marked a nation-wide premiere, as the first ever university to include our profession, visual communication, in its curriculum, to this degree. It was an amazing experience getting to know the students and working together towards consolidating not only their skills, but also laying the foundation for what is to become a long-term endeavour meant to equip the young generation of architects with the skills necessary to visually communicate their vision. This is but another step in our journey as we stay committed to our mission to raise awareness and pass on our knowledge.

Our journey to empower the new generation of artists continues in Bucharest.

At the invitation of Prof. PhD. Arch. Georgica Mitrache, Dean of the University of Architecture and Urbanism “Ion Mincu” in Bucharest our senior CGI artists held a presentation and a workshop on visual communication in architecture.
Yet again we were amazed to see the energy and creativity with which these young architects took on the challenges we put forward.
We had a great time in Bucharest and we look forward to continue this journey.

BATRA 2019 – Cluj

Last year’s journey culminated as we held our last event of 2019 home, in Cluj as part of  the Transylvanian Biennial of Architecture – BATRA 2019.

We were honoured by the invitation to take part in this prestigious experience with an exhibition and day-long post production workshop addressed to a wide audience.
Our managing partner, Zsolt Szeibert, opened the exhibit of selected works that marked our history with a presentation in the historic Centre of Urban Culture.
It is humbling to have been deemed worthy to represent our industry among such amazing events and we are glad to see our profession becoming an integral part of the architectural process. Students, young architects and artists worked side by side with our seasoned professionals and took a deep dive in the world of post-production in the Transylvanian Ethnographic Museum.
Our gratitude goes to the great people of BATRA, Arch Daniela Maier President of Transylvanian Chamber of Architects and Arch Dan Domsa Vice President of Transylvanian Chamber of Architects for making this possible.

Our journey to empower the new generation of artists has started.

This year beyond visual arts has embarked in a journey to bring awareness to a wide and diverse audience about the world of arch-viz and its role in visually communicating architecture, and to empower the younger generation of architects and visualizers with the knowledge gained in our 16 years of experience.
To this end we started a countrywide lecture and workshop tour in Romania’s most prestigious architectural university hubs, to bring together our expertise and all those interested in expanding their knowledge and understanding of the industry that has brought so many visions to life.

Our first event took place last week in Iasi, where in collaboration with the Chamber of Architects Iasi (OAR Filiala Iaşi) our managing partner Zsolt Szeibert held a captivating presentation during the Architecture Biennial of Iasi.
Our project leaders George Croitor and Cristi Dragos guided the energized students through the challenges of creating a stunning visual message, during a one-day workshop at the invitation of the Dean of the Facultatea de Arhitectură din Iași “GM Cantacuzino” , Prof. Dr. Arh. Mihai Driscu.

It was an amazing experience and humbling to see so many young artists express their creativity in such a remarkable way. We are eager to continue our journey and to share our knowledge in our upcoming events in Timisoara, Bucuresti and Cluj.
